Researchers have come to know about the real reason for tide triggering the earthquakes

A new study says that a little stress can bring a massive earthquake.

Many years ago, scientists realized that the tectonic plate which is situated in the mid-ocean ridges and underwater mountain ranges is linked with the tide. But they didn’t know the reason for the uptick in tremors during the low tides.

Seismologist and co-lead of a study named Christopher Scholz explained that:

“Everyone was sort of stumped because according to conventional theory, those earthquakes should occur at high tides.”

When the movement starts on the upper block, the block slides down with respect to the lower one. So they suspect that when the time arrives the water, which is on the top pushes the upper block and it causes an earthquake. But that is not the thing which happens. The faulty water slides down when the low tide takes place. Scholz said that:

“when forces are actually pulling upwards “which is the opposite of what you’d expect.”

The scientist has set up a dense network in the underwater to monitor the movement the volcano eruption takes place. The data is used in different types of research which can show the path to avoid earthquakes.

The volcano magma chamber was not a matter of consideration. It was only a pocket of the soft pressurized surface. The scientists came to know that when the tide is low, there is very less water which is sitting in the chamber. It can stain a rock around the chamber. It forces a block to slide and the fault occurs. This is the reason behind earthquakes.
